DBJ Season Preview 2013: Four Writers, Four Previews

One of the great things about this blog is that it's a place where opinions are not only accepted but encouraged.  I love that Gallos has his own perspective, that Morgan has his and that I have mine.  Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don't.  We respect each others' opinions, though, because (for the most part) our opinions are well thought out and our words are measured and not inflammatory.

What does that have to do with season preview time at the DBJ blog?  Everything.

Gallos, Morgan and DBJ put on their Sunday
best to welcome new blogger Tim.
Rather than come up with some arbitrary division of responsibilities in tackling the preseason preview posts, I instead decided to embrace our diversity of views.  Thus, we'll be offering "Four Writers, Four Previews."  Each of us has carte blanche to post our own preseason thoughts.  In fact, we've all been working on those very thoughts with no idea what anyone else is writing about.  (And no, I don't edit other people's work at DBJ unless they ask.)  You'll be getting four very fresh preseason previews as a result.  (Actually, you'll get five as I'm surely going to offer a few thoughts over at the Dark Blue Jacket Plus blog at FOX Sports Ohio.)

But wait, you say.  You've mentioned three writers - DBJ, Gallos and Morgan.  Who's the fourth?  It's a bit of a pleasant surprise, actually.  I was approached by long-time Blue Jackets fan and local youth hockey coach Tim to join the DBJ blog corps a few weeks ago.  I gleefully accepted Tim's offer.  Not only does he possess a lot of hockey knowledge, Tim also has a terrifically dry sense of humor that I have enjoyed for years now while lurking on his Twitter timeline.  He tells me that his first post will be coming soon, I think as part of the preseason preview series.

Anyway, I'm excited at the prospects here at the DBJ blog for the 2013-14 season.  We've got three great guys - and then there's me - on the blog.  We have 82 games this time around.  We have labor peace for ten years.  We have finally left the Western Conference for where Columbus really belongs - the Eastern Conference.

Can't wait to see what comes up over the next week-plus.  Enjoy our preseason previews, everyone - and make sure you join us over the entire 2013-14 season and beyond!
